Product Description
Great for cats and dogs, this fully automatic pet feeder features a tough plastic base that holds a food reservoir for food "on demand." The electronic pet feeder's simple, programmable electronics prompt the feeder to dispense portions from 1/4 to 3 cups at three selected times per day. The unit can be set to meet scheduled feeding times and amounts when caretakers are away, but it is not meant to replace human care--please be sure someone still visits the pet daily. The unit's hopper holds 10 pounds of food and accommodates a full range of dry food sizes, shapes, and types. The feeding bowl is removable for easy cleaning. Required batteries, which are not included, sustain a long battery life of six months. One-year limited warranty.Similar Products

this would have received 5 stars except for the fact that my daschunds are able to wiggle the lids off after 4/5 days. otherwise, it is great!!!

After months of transitioning my cats to eat out of the bowl, I finally filled the hoppers with cat food and programmed the timer. I must admit, the assembly and programming was VERY easy. However, I have two cats, one of which is an overeater, the reason I bought these feeders. As I work long hours and do go on vacations, I needed a feeder which would regulate the amount of food he recieved. Anyway, I was on the couch, and I heard him (the overeating cat, eating) Mind you, it was not time for the food to dispense. SO I peeked around the corner and watched, all the feeder needed was a tap of his paw, and the food came out! ARE YOU KIDDING ME!!!! So I tapped on the other feeder, and sure enough, food dispensed! Ridiculous. I had to empty out the hoppers, or he would have ate until all the food was gone. If you have a cat that overeats, do not buy this product!!!

I was actually contemplating writing a letter to Petmate. A company who makes pet products should be sligtly more intuned with, well, pets. Don't get me wrong, the idea is great. But looking at the product itself is an insult to pets. The unit I purchased works just fine, but the construction itself doesn't stand a chance against my smart, determined and always hungry 13 lb. cat. It took him a day to figure out if he heaves his bulk agains it, it will release a few extra snacks and manipulating the dispensing paddles with his paw will get the same result. The other night I was lying in bed at 3:15 am shaking with laughter as I was listening to him working very hard on the Le Bistro.
I suppose this product is for you if:
1. Your pet is not especially smart, hungry, adventurous or large.
2. You want a good laugh
3. You want to take it upon yourself to stop your pet from getting extra snacks from the feeder. (i.e. partially block the shoot)
P.S. I was releived to read that I'm not the only one with a "deranged" cat!

My cat figured out how to reach up into the feeder, and it would dump out a serving. My old cat from 10 years ago would have been fine with it, since she wasn't quite the eater that our current cat is.

I purchased this feeder for my cat and already shipped the original one for replacement, but even the replaced feeder doesn't work properly. The feeder is nice looking and holds plenty of food; it is also easy to set up. All these features are great and aren't offered with any other products of this category. However, it just doesn't dispence food in proper quantities; one meal is always too tiny (6-8 pellets), another one too large (full tray while only quater of a cup should be dispenced). Had to return the feeder.
