It lasted about a day and broke. I taped it together and it last one more day before it was trash.

This laser toy is great for pets as it is bright so they can see it clearly and has several fun shapes to display.

"cat laser toy" 2010-09-19

I ordered two of these in my last order, because they are cheap, they are a favorite toy of my cats, and they are small and easy to temporarily misplace. Replacement batteries are also very affordable. You can get a pack of 50 for about $8. I've never experienced any problem with the toy itself breaking---only the need to replace batteries. My cats are aware that I am the one who generates the image by picking up the toy, and when they hear the rattle of the key chain that is attached to the toy, they both come out of nowhere and wait for the image to appear. They love the star, the fish and the butterfly, and they pretty much ignore the smiley face and the dot. After reading some of the negative reviews about laser toys causing emotional problems for pets, I did some research, because no matter how much they love chasing these, I would not let them play with something that could harm them. Everything I read on cat and vet websites related to cats and lasers was pretty consistent in stating that the lasers were a great way to provide fun for the kitties and exercise their stalking and pouncing instincts, but that each laser toy play session should be ended with a toy that the cat can actually capture, so that they do not become frustrated. This is an easy thing to do, and I have already changed our laser play sessions to end with one of their feather toys they can capture and carry away. I don't have a dog, so I didn't search specifically for information on laser toy effects on dogs, but there is a lot of information related to the subject. As far as my cats are concerned, they love this toy and we will continue to play with it and end each session with something they can capture!

"I LOVED it...and then..." 2010-08-25

I bought this as a last attempt hope to get my cat to play with something. She is 12 years old and hates all toys. Well, she LOVED it!! She chased that little red dot all across our house! She didn't care about any of the other shapes, just the normal lazer.

Now, the problem. I bought this on July 8th. I had to buy a 2nd set of batteries before August. I just bought another set 3 days ago, and guess what, they're already dead. I did not use this combined for more than an hour. I will not continue to purchase batteries for this, instead I'll get a better laser.

"Great toy for dogs or cats!" 2010-08-22
By Carol A. Seaver
I can not say enough good about this little inexpensive toy. My dogs go crazy over the light. My son has a Sphinx and a Devon Rex cat. They will jump half way up the wall for this light. The different patterns do not make any difference. The light itself is what makes it so much fun. This would make a great souce for running off energy during rainny days or cold winter days when going outside is not possible. Thank you Amazon for selling this toy!
